Abstract

Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (1689-1752) a well known and famous poet of Sindhi Language is noted a Sindhi Sufi scholar, mystic, saint and widely considered to be a great philosopher and scholar of Sindhi language and culture. His poetry collection is famously known as Shah-Jo-Risalo, which has been translated into English, Urdu and many other languages of the world. Shah Jo Risalo has 30 chapters which are called surs. His poetry is full with the fruitful lessons to be a better human being and to serve for human society. In Sur Kamod, he has described the charater of a lady namely ‘Noori’ as submissive women, who demonstrates her gratitude to king Tamachi, who accepted her as his queen despite the fact that she a belonged to a lower caste. However, despite her submissive to the king Tamachi, she remained loyal to her own people who were very poor people.
