Fantasy is an umbrella term. The critics have shown varied opinions over its connotative and denotative meanings. Human imagination, unfulfilled desires, doubts, dreams and unseen world fall under the definition of fantasy. It relates human imagination on the one side while same imagination represents reality on the other. Fantasy literature is a rarity in the Urdu literature. In novel, Ghulam Abbas's "Jazeera e Sukhan waran", Muhammad Khalid's "Chaki Wara Mein Visaal" and "2011", JameelWasti's "PingalKa Jazeera", Musharraf AlamZauqi's "Pokeman Ki Dunya", "Professor S Ki AjeebDastaan", Ahmad Aqeel Rubi's "ChauthiDunya" and Hijab Imtai Ali’s "PagalKhana" are worth mentioning. Mirza Athar Baig's novel, "Ghulam Bagh" is a cutting-edge philosophical novel from style, art and technical point of view. This bulky novel contains lot instances of fantasy.
