Abstract

Sense of humor is an indispensable aspect of human nature, without which human life not only looks dull and colorless, but sometimes man reaches the limits of despair and hopelessness. That is why satire and humour is found in every literature of the world for the pursuit of an optimistic life. If we look at English literature in this context, it is clear that satire and humour has existed in English literature from the very beginning, and its gradual evolution is a testament to the fact that the tradition of satire and humour in English literature has been stronger and more vibrant than in any other language in the world. In the article under study, scribe has tried to present the same thing in a critical and research oriented manner.
