Abstract

The revolution of Urdu Nazm refers to the significant transformations and developments that took place in this form of poetry over the years. It was heavily influenced by Persian poetry, with many poets adopting Persian forms, themes, and literary devices.Poets like Mirza Ghalib and Momin Khan Momin experimented with new forms, such as the ghazal and the nazm. Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Josh Malihabadi, and Majaz were influenced by Marxist and socialist ideologies, which reflected in their poetry.Then Urdu Nazm began to focus on social justice, equality, and freedom, with poets using their work as a form of resistance against colonialism and oppression. Ahmed Faraz, Parveen Shakir, and Iftikhar Arif experimented with new forms, language, and themes, pushing the boundaries of traditional Urdu Nazm.thats why Urdu Nazm began to explore themes of individualism, personal freedom, and existentialism. In Contemporary Trends Urdu Nazm became more diverse, with poets exploring a wide range of themes, styles, and forms.its also Increased Focus on Identity, Culture, and Politics. Contemporary Urdu Nazm often engages with issues of identity, culture, and politics, reflecting the complexities of modern life. The revolution of Urdu Nazm has been shaped by various social, cultural, and literary factors, transforming it into a rich and dynamic form of poetry that continues to evolve and thrive.
