A Critical Rview of Amina Wadud's Objections Regarding Prophethood

Abstract
Allah Almighty created humanity and appointed it as His vicegerent on Earth. Following this, the Prophecy was released, and at designated times, Allah's chosen prophets to send on Earth with His message. This series of Prophethood concluded with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), after him no Prophet or Messenger will come. In Islamic thought, the topic of Prophethood have always been of utmost importance, particularly concerning whether women can be appointed to these exalted positions. In this regard, Amina Wadud, a renowned as feminist theologist, has raised several objections regarding the exclusion of women from these roles. According to her, Islamic tradition has deprived women of these positions, which she argues reflects gender-based inequality. The purpose of this article is to seek a balanced perspective based on a correct understanding of Islamic teachings and to critically examine Amina Wadud's views in an academic context. The central question of this article is whether women can be appointed to the exalted positions of Prophethood Amina Wadud's objections are analyzed in the light Quran & Sunnah.
