Translation and Adaptation of Santa Clara Religious Belief Scale in (Urdu) Language in Pakistan: A Psychometric Evaluation

Abstract

The current study was acquired to translate and adapt the scale of Santa Clara religious belief Questionnaire (Larkey., 1996) in native language of Pakistan (Urdu). Data was collected through online Google form along with demographic form by random sampling from 100 participants 55 males and 45 females. Participants were between the age range of 16 to 60 with the minimum education level of metric or above. A psychometrics ability of translated version in Urdu scale has been checked by using a) internal consistency b), and c) convergent and discriminant validity. According to an analysis of results, the Santa Clara religious belief questionnaire is designated as a highly reliable and valid measure for assenting religious beliefs in the national language of Pakistan (Urdu). Limitation and implication of the study has been discussed.
